Hayabusa Tank Pad Installation

To Install a Haybusa Tank Pad you need to start off by removing the seat so you can get the Haybusa Tank Pad set up properly. Once the seat is off you will need to wipe down the area of the tank you want to install you tank pad on with rubbing alcohol. This is a denatured alcohol which wont harm your paint job. You will need to install this in direct sunlight so both the Haybusa Tank Pad and the gas tank are heated up to ensure optimum adhesion. You will want to line up the tank pad and once you have a general idea of where you want to install it you put it on from the top and work your way down pressing and eliminating bubbles. We chose a somewhat cool day so we took a blow dryer and heated up both the Haybusa Tank Pad and the Haybusa Gas Tank. Once the Haybusa Tank Pad is installed you will need to let it sit for 24 hours to attain full adhesion. Here are some pics of the installation. I decided to run mine a little low which required removal of the seat.

Blow Drying the tank to get it all warmed up

Placing the Hayabusa Tank pad on the Gas Tank, the directions say to apply to tank softly but we found out that this is easier said than done.

Make sure you start from the top and work you way down. The bottom of the Hayabusa Tank pad will be underneath the seat.

Pretty much centered we were pretty happy with the installation.

After you install the Hayabusa Tank Pad make sure you blow dry it again on all corners to ensure maximum adhesion.

This is the best way to protect your tank from scratches and we at BusaBoys.com recommend this installation which is why we have outlined the process in detail. I would like to thank Jeff Stuart for his assistance on this installation.
