12-19-2006 Busa Boys terrorize Gorman with Honda Pilots. Myself and Busa Ray loaded up the Honda Pilots at about 8am, ate breakfast, and then headed up to Gorman. We stopped in Sherman Oaks at Scot's Gym to drop of some stuff for the Hayabusa he is building. We had the pilots of the trailer by noon and it was on! I have never riden a Pilot before so we started off by keeping it mellow and doing high speed laps around the campground to warm things up. I am sure the other campers were already loving us because after we came back from our first ride they had already relocated. Of course we had to do a few more laps around the campground again. We were bundled up tight as it was about 48 degrees out there most of the day. We went on a ride that tooks up up into where it snowed, and you could also view the 5 freeway at the top of the grapvine from that location. We came across some deer and we tried to heard them but we quickly realized that deer are not sheep and don't like to be hearded so we bailed on that idea. We did see them later on again in the day and I am sure they were glad to see us. You could get really close to them they are offroad vehicle friendly deer and didnt really run to far away when you come by them. Early on I tried some hill climbing and pulled off my first one but then attempted on that was way out of my league and within one bounce I was chucked off the path and onto a ledge and after I kept spinning the tires I managed to high center myself. Not Good! Busa Ray got out and hooked up a rope to my Pilot and pulled me out of my rut. We did a few more hill climbs and terrorized the place a little more and then headed back home. In all we rode from 12 to 4:30 with a half hour break. Good living for sure this was up there on the 10 most fun things I have done in my life! Can't wait until the next trip.
Here is a video clip of some hill climbing, burnouts and me getting stuck.
